Gobhi Manchurian

Gobhi manchurian is an Indo Chinese appetizer which is coated with cornflour, many sauces and it is deep fried. The recipe is very easy just keep all the ingredients ready and you can make it in 10 minutes.

Take 500 gms or 250 gms of cauliflower. Wash it thoroughly and cut into medium size flowrets.
For the coating of cauliflower
  • Salt to taste
  • kashmiri red chilli powder 2 teaspoon
  • pepper powder 1 teaspoon
  • 3-4 teaspoon of cornflour
  • 1-2 teaspoon of all purpose flour
  • Mix all these well with cauliflower and add 1-2 table spoon of water in it so that it is coated well.

Ingredients for the sauce
  • One medium sized onion
  • greens of spring onions
  • green chillies 1-2
  • fresh ginger and garlic finely chopped
  • red chilli sauce 2 tablespoon
  • dark soya sauce 1-2 tablespoon
  • tomato ketch up 1 tablespoon
Method :
  • First wash the cauliflower and coat it chilli powder, salt, pepper powder, cornflour and all purpose flower and keep it aside for half an hour so that it absorbs all the spices.
  • Then take a deep pan and deep fry it. Take only few flowrets at a time otherwise it may stick together.
After the flowrets are deep fried keep it aside and prepare for the sauce.
  • Take a pan pour little oil in it add the freshly chopped ginger and garlic and stir fry it. Then add the onions and green chilies and again fry it for 2 minutes. Lastly add the greens or the spring onions and fry it for 2 minutes and add the soya sauce, red chilli sauce and tomato ketch up.

  •  and mix it well add the crispy fried flowrets kept aside into the sauce give it a good stir and your yummy mouthwatering gobhi manchurian is ready.
You can either make it in gravy or dry.
